Jen Grigg Counselling

Offering a safe and hopeful space.

Counselling in Bishops Waltham, serving Eastleigh, Fareham, Winchester, Southampton and the surrounding areas.

Welcome

I'm Jen. I have always been drawn to helping professions and am passionate about supporting people of all ages to protect and enhance their well-being and quality of life. My experience as a secondary school teacher for 20 years taught me a great deal about the human experience and time and again I observed the invaluable impact of offering people empathy, acceptance and an opportunity to tell their story.

Since deciding to retrain as a counsellor, I have continued to learn from every client what it means to be human and ongoing professional development is, and always will be, something I am fully committed to.

I work with adults and young people (age 13+) who are living with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, low mood, depression, self-injury, sexuality, identity, self-esteem, challenging relationships, grief, loss and sexual or domestic abuse.

How I work

Counselling is a chance for you to slow down and be heard in the present, to heal from the past and to grow towards a more hopeful, peaceful and meaningful future. I will offer you a warm, safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to gently explore any challenges you are facing.

An individual approach

I firmly believe that every human being is unique so I will endeavour to understand you as an individual and, through working together, your counselling sessions will be tailored to meet your specific needs based on your personal lived experience. My approach is based on the core values of empathy, compassion and non-judgement.

Moving forward

I believe that therapeutic conversations can be nourishing, restorative and healing.  Sharing thoughts, feelings and experiences, within the safety of a therapeutic relationship, dissolves isolation and opens up the possibility of moving forward.
